About Us
AfriTox Mobile Lab is a Kenyan-registered company specializing in on-site mobile testing for heavy metals and environmental toxins. We bring laboratory-grade analysis directly to clients, eliminating long sample transport delays and turning results into decisions.
Our Mission
To protect human health, ensure food and water safety, support sustainable agriculture, and help industries and communities comply with Kenyan regulations - by making heavy metals testing accessible, affordable, and mobile.
"Heavy metals contamination is largely invisible - people don't know they're affected until it's too late. We're changing that, one test at a time."
Our Vision
To serve millions of farmers and workers, provide reliable data for national environmental policy, and contribute to safer food, cleaner water, and healthier workplaces across East Africa.
Our Core Values
Scientific Rigour
Handheld XRF screening backed by laboratory confirmation - results you can trust for audits, health decisions, and export certification.
Truly Mobile
We travel to you. Vans, motorbikes, and portable equipment reach farms, factories, and communities across Kenya.
Compliance First
Every report is structured to meet OSHA 2007, NEMA, KEBS, and KMLTTB standards - no extra work needed on your end.
Fast Turnaround
On-site screening with results in 24-72 hours. Decisions can't wait weeks for a distant laboratory.
Community-Centred
From smallholder farmers to urban communities, we price for real Kenyan incomes - group rates, pilots, and subscriptions.
Impact-Driven
Every test is a step toward healthier workers, safer food, cleaner water, and a more sustainable Kenya.
Our Journey
The Idea
Identified a critical gap - Kenyan farmers and factory workers had no affordable, accessible way to test for heavy metal exposure.
Research & Development
Developed the mobile testing model, sourced handheld XRF technology, and began building relationships with cooperatives and sugar mills.
Pilot Launches
Ran initial pilots in the Rift Valley with maize farmers and engaged sugar mill outreach programmes for worker biological monitoring.
Official Registration
AfriTox Mobile Lab officially registered as a Kenyan company - ready to scale across East Africa.
Meet the Founder
Francis Amollo founded AfriTox Mobile Lab after recognising a dangerous blind spot in Kenya's public health and agricultural landscape.
Millions of farmers, factory workers, and community members are exposed to heavy metals — lead in soil, cadmium in fertilisers, mercury in artisanal mining zones, arsenic in groundwater — with virtually no affordable way to detect or monitor that exposure.
Traditional laboratory testing requires long sample transport times, high costs, and institutional access that most Kenyans simply don't have. Francis set out to change that with a fully mobile model that eliminates the barriers.
Under his leadership, AfriTox has built partnerships with farmer cooperatives, sugar mills, hospitals, and government bodies — and is actively pursuing KENAS and ISO 17025 accreditation to ensure every report meets the highest international standards.
